The medieval city of Carcassonne, France has extensive walls surrounding a town and a large castle. Supposedly it’s normally a windy place, but we happened to be there the few days it was not windy, making it seem even hotter while exploring. Andy and I really enjoyed our visit here despite the hoards of tourists and extreme heat. Touring the castle was really interesting, and the whole place was really pretty.
