When Andy and I first started brainstorming ideas for a new site, we knew pictures would play a big part. We both really love photography, and we can easily take a few thousand photos on a two week trip. Finally we decided on a daily calendar photo in addition to a few posts a week.
At one time or another, we both had those page-a-day calendars where you rip off a page each day to see the next travel destination. It was always a nice way to know what the date was while having a chance to daydream for a few minutes about traveling to some exotic or historic location.
Now we are bringing that concept right to your computer. You can find our daily photo on the “calendar picture a day” tab on the menu. There’s also a widget on the sidebar showing a smaller version of the daily photo that will take you to the full version by clicking on it.
A look back
Here are the first six weeks of calendar photos, since the launch of this site. If you want to see the original post for any of them, just click on the picture you want to view! And don’t forget to check back to see the next calendar photo!

That’s really cool. Great idea, guys!
Thanks. They continue every day, just trying to think of ways to showcase them better to others.
I love them all, but the one that captures my heart the most is the photo from Dubrovnik, Croatia. That is one of my most favorite countries in the world!
Yeah, Dubrovnik seems to have that effect on most people.
What an excellent idea!! Very tempted to use it for our blog as well
The photo from July 26 is simply amazing. Well done!
Thanks. Feel free to use the idea.
So far all of the pictures are Ali’s, and she has a thing for sunsets.
Oh I love this idea and love the lil collage at the end where you could click on the photo and go to the site. How do you do that?
We are just that good.
Ali made the photo strip and I made the clickable aspect of it in another program. DM me if you want more detail.
Beautiful photos. Love the calendar idea!
Thanks. I will continue to do round-ups every month, but I hope people come check out the photos daily as well.
